- NS Environmental Goals and Sustainability Prosperity Act
This legislation was introduced in March and received final approved by Cabinet in June, 2007. The act features more than 20 targets.
- Opportunities for Sustainable Prosperity 2007-2008 Annual Progress Report
This is Nova Scotia's economic growth strategy, updated and released in 2007-8. it focuses on sustainable prosperity/sustainable competitiveness, and a new approach to develop our economy that enhances the social and natural systems that support its growth through the adoption of new and emerging technologies, good stewardship and good design.
- Green Web: Towards a Sustainable Environment
Released in 2003, this document explains government's approach to managing the environment- an approach that unites all government departments in the effort and recognizes the important links between environment, health, and economy. The Green Plan is intended to set an example of environmental responsibility by the Province that they hope will inspire industry, business, citizens, and other levels of government.

This report was released in late 2005, and highlights government's progress in implementing the green plan commitments across government.
- NS Environment Act
- Nova Scotia's Energy Strategy
This was adopted on December, 2001, and promotes the wise use of energy and confirms the belief that the private sector is the prime engine for developing the province's natural resources and creating economic benefits and long-term growth. The Energy Strategy is currently being updated.
